Sales Development Representative.

Our recent acquisition by IDP makes this a great time to join The Ambassador Platform: we’ll continue to operate fully independently like we always have, but with more funds and resources to take the business to the next level. For Marketing and Sales, this means expanding and uniting the teams further to better nurture our leads, so they can see for themselves how our product could make their lives easier.

Reporting to the VP of Partnerships in Canada but working super closely with the Chief Growth Officer and the rest of the Sales Team, you’ll be the person who gives our leads the love they need through a mix of cold prospecting and nurturing of Marketing Qualified Leads. You’ll be the key team member who builds relationships with prospects, who gets the Sales folks excited when somebody is ready to have a chat, and who tells the rest of the Marketing Team what’s resonating with the target audience and what’s missing the mark based on your conversations.

Success in this role will be measured by one simple metric: number of ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) meetings booked for the sales team. We have a competitive commission scheme available for this role.

As the business is already on track to achieve its ambitious growth targets, you’ll get many opportunities to make your mark and grow alongside it - on our side, we’ll make sure you have everything you need to develop, whether its internal and external training, or ongoing development conversations.

  • This role is a crucial position, we’re focused on outputs, deliverables and hitting the ground running, you’ll be unflappable in getting up to speed with our product and confidently booking in meetings in month one.
  • Work closely with the VP of Partnerships, Director of Marketing, the Marketing Operations Manager and the Sales Team to identify potential customers and generate new business opportunities.
  • Prospect and qualify potential customers across The Ambassador Platform’s Canadian and US markets. We anticipate this to be 85% Canada and 15% US to start.
  • Follow up on Marketing Qualified Leads to increase conversion rates across the funnel (and get more demos booked).
  • Help the Sales team make the most of their business development trips by generating interest and getting meetings booked in advance.
  • Use Hubspot to manage leads and sales activities, report on effectiveness and make suggestions on how to improve existing processes.

You will have the opportunity to deal with both inbound and outbound prospecting. We’ve got warm leads and you’ll demonstrate an ability to hustle, take those leads and convert them.

The Ambassador Platform is actively seeking a skilled SDR to join our dynamic team. Our peer-to-peer platform provides a unique space for prospective students to connect with student ambassadors through chat, user-generated content, and video. If you are passionate about leveraging technology to revolutionise the future of education, this role is for you.


  • You have had a couple of years in sales, ideally in B2B tech or Education, including prospecting and nurturing warm leads.
  • A good working knowledge of the Higher Ed sector in Canada
  • You’re proactive and know how to build and maintain relationships with potential customers.
  • You’re comfortable working in a scale-up environment, where things can change quickly and some processes are still work-in-progress.


  • Previous experience with Hubspot would be a bonus.
